Savory Baby Congee
My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 15 minutes
For 8 Months and Up

1. Savory Baby Congee

Ingredients:

2 tbsp basic congee or as you need (Congee and Porridge are the same thing)
1 medium button mushroom
1/2 teaspoon minced red pepper (skinless)
1/2 tbsp mashed cooked fish (be careful with the bone)
1/2 tbsp minced beef
1 cherry tomato (skinless, seedless) chop very fine
1/2 teaspoon chopped cooked spinach
1/2 cup home made beef broth or regular water
1 tbsp cottage cheese
few drop olive oil

Method:

Wash the mushroom, minced very fine.  Heat olive oil into a nonstick pan, add the mushroom and pinch of salt to taste and cook until the color brown and caramelize, set aside.  In a small pot, mix all together the ingredients except for the fish, then bring to boil add salt to taste.  Stir it and continue cooking until no more water and thick enough as your baby desires.  Transfer to a baby bowl, add mashed fish and cottage cheese and sprinkle with mushroom.

Note: Choose a fresh fish and  always cook the fish for only one meal.  I always use golden pompano because it looks clean, not much bone and don't smell too fishy.

Make Basic Congee:

Ingredients:

3/4 of rice
4 cups of water.

Method:
Wash the rice, then bring to boil until no more water.  This basic congee can be store in refrigerator for two days.

Tips:
You can always change the vegetable, meat and some other ingredients as long as safe for the baby for that age.
