Tamarind Tea

Tamarind Tea
Health benefits of Tamarind tea include getting a good source of antioxidants.  Tamarind contains vitamin C, carotenes, the B-vitamins, and flavanoids.  It helps to reduce fevers and provides protection against colds, lowers cholesterol, healthy heart, ease soar throat, and reduces menstruation pain.

My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 5 minutes / Cook Time 15 minutes


1 cup Indonesian tamarind (you can buy in Asian grocery store)
2 sticks brown sugar
1 1/2 liter water


Bring to boil the water and add the tamarind. then boil over medium heat for about five minutes.  Add the brown sugar and continue boiling for another ten minutes over medium-low heat.  Turn off the heat and let it cool then strain it. Keep it refrigerated and consume within a week.
