Braised Beef with Daikon

Braised Beef with Daikon
My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time 2 hours


1 lb beef stew meat
1 daikon - peel and cut
4 cloves fresh garlic - cracked
2 thumb size ginger - cracked
5 star anise
1/4 cup oyster sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp olive oil


Heat the oil in the pot over medium heat and fry the garlic and ginger until fragrant, then add the beef stew meat.  Add the beef broth, star anise, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and simmer for about 15 minutes.  Turn  down the heat to medium-low and continue cooking for about 1 1/4 hours, then add the daikon.

Continue cooking until the daikon and the meat are tender and enough juice remains.  You  have to add some water until the cooking process is finished.  Serve.
