Mini Chicken Burger

Mini Chicken Burger
This is a great tasting gourmet chicken burger.  Folks who took a bite always want more.  It's low in fat content compare to a beef patty and the burger itself tastes a lot better than any beef burger out there.

Adapted recipe
Prep Time: 30 minutes / Cook Time 20 minutes

How to cook the best Chicken Burger

  • Some mini burger buns
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Avocado
  • Mayonnaise
  • Some of bamboo skewers
  • Colby jack cheese
For The Filling:
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 to 3 stems of fresh thyme
  • 1 tbsp butter and also use for toasting the bun
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Black pepper and salt to taste
For The Burger:
  • 1 cup minced chicken
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper and salt
Cooking Directions:
  1. Place the minced chicken in a medium bowl, add the dried oregano, olive oil, garlic powder, ground black pepper and salt, then mix it with a spatula until they're all well blended.
  2. Use a plastic wrapper and rub with a little water, make a mini burger with it the same size as your burger bun.
  3. Refrigerate the burger before using it for a few hours or until it firms.
  4. Wash and cut the onion, yellow bell pepper and red bell pepper into thin long strips. Fry the garlic in hot skillet over medium heat with a tbsp butter until fragrant, add the onion, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper and stir in a tbsp of water for a few seconds.
  5. Add the thyme, bay leaves, ground black pepper, heavy cream and pinch of salt and stir it, then cover. Turn off the heat when they're caramelized and no more juice, then set aside.
  6. Cut the burger bun and spread a little butter on it, toast them until golden color.
  7. In a griller, grill the chicken burger until brown and flip it to cook the other side. Place one slice of colby jack cheese on top of the chicken burger.
  8. Spread the toasted burger bun with mayonnaise and place a few leaves of fresh basil on top of the burger bun, then place some cooked vegetables (red bell pepper, onion, yellow and red bell pepper) on top of the basil leaves.
  9. When your cooked vegetables are set, put on the chicken burger followed by some slices of avocados and cover with the top burger bun, then pin with the bamboo skewer to make them stay in place and not falling apart.
  10. You can make a nice presentation shot with the bamboo skewer with cherry tomato, berry or anything on top, similar to the picture.
  11. Now, enjoy this awesome burger.
