Basic Bread (How To Make Bread)

Basic Bread (How To Make Bread)
My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 10 minutes / Waiting Time: 90 minutes/ Cook Time 20 minutes
Basic Bread (How To Make Bread)

  • 2 cups all purpose flour - and some for dusting
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 tbsp yeast (active dry yeast)
  • 3/8 cup lukewarm water + 2 tbsp to dissolve yeast
  • 2 tbsp butter - room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cooking Directions:
  1. Dissolve the yeast in two tbsp lukewarm water and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes or until you see creamy foam.
  2. In a big bowl, mix all the milk, butter, sugar and salt then make whisk a little to dissolve the sugar. Then add the flour and the yeast.  Knead the dough until smooth on lightly floured surface.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a wet cloth or plastic wrapper, then allow the dough to rise until it doubles in size. It will take about an hour.
  4. Punch the dough and divide in two if you want to make a small bread like the one on the picture above. If you want to make a sandwich, one recipe will make one medium sandwich by using a medium baking loaf.
  5. Roll the dough in a lightly floured surface and turn into whatever size you want, let it sit to rise for the second time, about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake the bread until golden.
  7. You can make any kind of bread from this basic bread recipe.
