Spicy Cold Noodle

Spicy Cold Noodle
My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 10 minutes
Spicy Cold Noodle

  • A handful of dried or wet soba noodle
  • 1/4 cup chopped kimchi
  • 1/2 palm size fish cake or some fish balls
  • 1 small carrot
  • 1/2 teaspoon black bean sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli paste
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
Cooking Directions:
  1. Peel the carrots and cut into long strips, then cut the fish cake into the same size as the carrots.
  2. Bring to boil the carrots and fish cake in boiling water for a few seconds, then place into a strainer. Do not throw away the water because you are going to use it to boil the soba noodle and you will need another pot of boiling water for the cooked soba after you rinse in a cold water.
  3. In a big bowl, mix the carrots, fish cake, kimchi, black bean sauce, chilli paste, sesame oil, and soy sauce all together and set aside.  Add the soba noodle into the boiling water and cook untill soft, then rinse it in cold running water, then add to another hot boiling water without the heat on. Immediately remove the soba and place in a strainer and add to the mixing bowl.
  4. Then toss it to combine (you can add some water if it's too dry). Then put in a refrigerator.
  5. Serve when soba is cold.
