Crispy Calamari Rings

Crispy Calamari Rings
My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 15 minutes

Crispy Calamari Rings

  • 10 ounces frozen or fresh calamari rings
  • 2 to 3 eggs
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko bread crumb
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • salt to taste
Cooking Directions:
  1. Clean calamari with water. Then dry it with a paper towel.
  2. Marinate with pinch of salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper. Allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, place flour, beaten eggs and bread crumb on a separate plate. Open the marinated calamari ring and roll it into the flour and beaten eggs, then onto the bread crumb. Do it one by one and add it to the hot oil to deep fry it until golden brown and crisp.
  4. Drain the excess oil with a strainer or in a paper towel.
  5. Serve with thousand island or mayonnaise sauce.
