Classic Shanghai Noodle
You don't have to go to Shanghai to get this classic tasty Shanghai Noodle.  This dish is a favorite to folks around the world who would have tried it.

My own original recipe.
Prep Time: 15 minutes / Cook Time: 20 minutes

Classic Shanghai Noodle

  • 1 medium package Shanghai noodle (Get it in Asian grocery store)
  • 8 ounce tender beef
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 2 tbsp black pepper sauce (Get it in Asian grocery store. Use "Lee Kum Kee" brand)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • salt to taste
Cooking Directions:
  1. Wash the beef and cut the beef into thinly long strips, then marinate with 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and pinch of salt.  Mix it together and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. Wash the baby spinach and strain it.
  3. In a medium pot, bring the shanghai noodles to a boil but do not over cook, then rinse it in cold water to stop the cooking process.
  4. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and butter in a medium heat pan, add the marinated beef until it cooks and set aside. Using the same pan, add 1/4 of water, soy sauce, black pepper sauce and a pinch of salt.
  5. Let it cook in low heat until it bubbles. Then add the noodle to the pan, stir it, then add the beef and the spinach and keep stirring it until it mixes well.
  6. Serve.
